The Court of the Pixie King

 

For 5 part recorder ensemble. A stately piece providing plenty of interest for each player. This piece takes the folklore of Somerset Pixies and takes us into their realm, they are not necessarily the benign creatures we usually think of, they aren’t to be crossed. This piece sees them in their underground palace, with the pomp and splendour as befits a king. 

Although written for 5 parts the contra part can be doubled on a bass with good effect.
