Moonlight, Summer Moonlight
Setting the words of Emily Bronte’s poem Moonlight, Summer Moonlight to music for unaccompanied SATB choir this is a piece that suits both amateur and community choirs, as well as professional, due to the modest range required in the voice parts.
A piano reduction has been supplied for rehearsal although if less confident choirs wanted to perform with the piano this is fine.
Moonlight, Summer Moonlight by Emile Bronte
'Tis moonlight, summer moonlight,
All soft and still and fair;
The solemn hour of midnight
Breathes sweet thoughts everywhere,
But most where trees are sending
Their breezy boughs on high,
Or stooping low are lending
A shelter from the sky.
And there in those wild bowers
A lovely form is laid;
Green grass and dew-steeped flowers
Wave gently round her head.
